I never thought of myself as a design visionary, but in the mid 1990s while building a wholesale home design and decorating accessory business and trying to decorate my own Shoreline home, I quickly realized there was no place for me to find well-priced, high-quality, traditional and trendsetting furniture, accessories, lighting, gifts and one-of-a-kind pieces. Sure there were big box and specialty furniture stores, but what I wanted was a fantastic and chic shop that would offer dozens of lifestyle decorating ideas and cash and carry options to satisfy my immediate "furniture fix!" My friends and colleagues felt the same disappointment and my instinct was to build an inspirational home design retail emporium that would showcase exactly what I was looking for. The result was the birth of Venetucci Home.

Finding the "right" location for a fabulous home furnishings store was simple. I already had a terrific building in Westbrook, Connecticut that was headquarters to my wholesale business. Complete with old beams, concrete floors, and a wonderful outdoor space that would lend itself to a garden courtyard, the roadside building was originally built as a gambling and banquet hall in the early 1920s. I was using it for storage and immediately set to work re-creating the real estate into a series of grand rooms filled with warm and casual settings to encourage visitors to "sit and stay a while" throughout. Much of what I did was quite renegade for the time....mixing furniture from different lines with unique and daring accessories and art from around the world. I broke all the rules when it came to traditional merchandising and took risks that most retail experts would frown upon. For me it was about creating a stylized emporium that looked and felt like a home. Venetucci Home is a place where anyone could feel comfortable borrowing great lifestyle decorating ideas from their very first tour.

Part of the appeal of Venetucci Home is the setting and the other part is price point and the variety of design styles and choices available. We feature everything that inspires living tastefully from mid-century modern to classic French country influence and much, much more.
